First Aid

Knowing how to deal with emergencies and overdoses before emergency responders arrive can help save lives. In case of a suspected overdose or adverse reaction:

Step 1 — Call 911 Immediately

In case of a medical emergency or overdose, always call 911 immediately, or ask someone to do so. Do not wait to see if the symptoms improve. Early action can save lives.

Step 2 — Administer First Aid

After calling 911, administrating the proper first aid can also help prevent further damage. If the person is unconscious but breathing, place them in the recovery position. If not breathing, start CPR.

Step 3 — Stay Calm and Prepared

Inform emergency responders about the substances taken, if known.

Keep the person as calm and comfortable as possible until help arrives.
